Born in the Bronx, N.Y., and raised by Jamaican parents in Plainfield, N.J., Brian Watson graduated from Hampton University with a degree in Psychology. While at Hampton University, he became a brother of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He went on to work for Bank of America Merrill Lynch in the Wealth Management Banking division. He’s a poet, actor, activist, and filmmaker. Brian started producing films for Pierre Films and more recently co-creator of Black River Life Media with his wife Collette Watson. Black River Life Media is a creative production studio founded by Brian and Collette Watson to center the diversity, depth, and futurity of Black cultural identity.
